Full professor of Administrative Law at the Faculty of Law of the University of Trento, professor Cortese teaches Public law Institutions and Administrative Procedural Law.
Professor Cortese is a member of the European Group of Public Law (EGPL) – EPLO and of the International Society of Public Law. He is also a member of the Association Labsus – Laboratory on Subsidiarity, of the Euroregional Association in Comparative and European Public Law, of the Italian Association of Law and Literature, and of ASGI – Association for Juridical Studies on Immigration.
Professor Cortese is the coordinator of the scientific committee of the Documentation and Research Centre for Trentin Family in Venice, and a member of the administrative board of the Alcide De Gasperi Foundation.
Professor Cortese has authored numerous publications in the fields of administrative justice, education law, European administrative law, history of public law, law and memory.
Professor Cortese is on the managing board of several journals (Le Regioni; Pólemos-Journal of Law, Literature and Culture; Munus-Rivista giuridica dei servizi pubblici; Diritto costituzionale. Rivista quadrimestrale) and, together with Roberto Bin and Aldo Sandulli, he directs the series “Studies in public law” for FrancoAngeli publishing house.
